  • Great read

I always love discovering authors whose writing style makes me happy and Taryn Leigh Taylor is just that kind of author. This story is very well written and while it's a fairly classic storyline she crafted characters that made the whole thing feel fresh and fun. Brett is the typical sports bad boy who has let his bad behavior get out of control. He knows this chance with the Wolfpack may be his last so he plans on keeping his head down and staying out of trouble. That plan goes right out the window when he realizes the woman he shared a passionate night with is actually the coach's daughter. Chelsea stepped out of her good girl world right into trouble but what a fun sexy way to do it! I definitely recommend this one!

  • Well Paced & Entertaining

Taking A Shot was a well paced, entertaining and enjoyable read. That easily held my interest throughout. Thanks to the two main characters and the chemistry they generated. As well as all the likable secondary characters. Who I'm hoping to read more about in the future. Plus, the storyline, although a little predictable at times did have substance. As well as a touch of drama, which was not only nicely handled, but offered a positive message too. And as a new author to me, I would certainly read more from Taryn Leigh Taylor in the future. **I was kindly provided with an ARC by Entangled Publishing in exchange for an honest review**

  • Hockey! Yes Please!

A great start to what I hope will be a upcoming series. Brett has been traded to a hockey team in Montana. He's not thrilled but he's happy his career isn't over, thanks to really bad press and a really crazy ex wife. This is his first move away from the only team he ever played for, he lives and breathes hockey. He knows he needs to keep his nose clean and focus. No crazy business. No women. He thinks he's safe in the hotel bar, having a drink. Chelsea is out to have a good time, angry at being passed over for a job she worked hard for, tired of being the girl who's always reliable and out to prove to herself that she can pick up a man and have a one nighter. No names, no anything. She picks a hotel bar. Being dropped off by her best friend who is truly annoying as hell, she's determined. There's a business convention at the bar, but it's full of middle aged men, she can't even get a drink. She spots an opening at the bar right there next to... the broad shoulders of a man who grabs her a seat. All he sees is the red lace of her bra peeking out of her sweater. No names, he calls her Red. No names only go upstairs to his room and enjoy the night together. Chelsea leaves before he wakes up, leaving her bra under the pillow. Her decision making process on that one is a hoot. He wakes up alone, knowing he has to be at a team meeting, practice, then a fund raising gala that night he's not really happy she skipped out. But she did. His first day is a little rough, between the coach, the new teammates, some he's known from the past, last thing he wants to do is go the the fund raiser but he does and there is all her red glory is Chelsea, the team owners daughter. She's the event coordinator. The one who is practical, organized and keeps things moving. So why did her father give her brother the lead to the franchise. The brother is a spoiled little weasel with a snarky attitude toward Chelsea. And there to help her pull things off is that annoying bestie. Seriously, take her out and I would have liked this book ten times better. It's a great story, the growing relationship between Chelsea and Brett. I liked the two of them a lot and also the teammates. Nicely written and great flow. I love a good hockey story. Brett and Chelsea are flying under the radar. What happens if they get caught? Or will they? Will one of them back out? Lots of questions in this one. Lastly, Brett is a stand up man. Big thumbs up on that one. 3.5 stars *arc from NetGalley and Entangled for an honest review*

  • Brett and Chelsea's story

This was such a good read! This was a first for me from this author, and the writing grabbed me from the start. Brett and Chelsea were great together, and I loved their chemistry! I thought Brett was a good guy. Even though he had a penchant for getting into trouble, he seemed like he was looking for something long term. Chelsea was looking for something short and sweet, but I was so glad when she realized that she could have it all with Brett. It was hard watching them go through the ups and downs of their relationship, but the ending was great. The only thing I would have liked would have been an epilogue. I love getting a look into the characters futures. I will definitely be reading whatever comes next from this author! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.

  • Hot! Hot! Hot!

This was such an excellent story. It was so deliciously, sexy and super off the charts-Scorching-Hot, but more than that, I loved the flirty fun vibe it had going on. It was really entertaining, so incredibly sweet, had a bit of drama and some emotional moments. I had so much fun reading it, and I could not put this down. I thoroughly enjoyed watching them connect, and there were so many great details and moments that just filled me up. I laughed, I smiled, and I sighed throughout the book as Chelsea and Brett’s relationship grew. I was expecting Brett to be this player of a man, but who I got was so incredibly kind, caring and sweet. I love a great Romance and this delivered from the first page to the last. I’m absolutely smitten with every little detail that makes up this story! LOVED IT! #Swoon! I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
