4.5 Star review of Talk Hockey To Me (Bears Hockey #3) by Kelly Jamieson This was a well written sports romance which had me captivated in the story from the first to the last chapter; this is Hunter and Kate’s story and one I enjoyed. Just when it looks like Hunter is finally going to get the contract he has worked so hard for his agent has a heart attack and he needs a new agent in a hurry and that’s where Kate comes in. Although she is not an experienced agent, she loves hockey and is passionate about it. He knows that she can help him negotiate the biggest contract of his career. Hunter and Kate had a passionate encounter three years ago but both are determined to keep that in the past and focus on the negotiations. However, the chemistry between Hunter and Kate sizzles and they find it to hard to ignore. This was at times an emotional roller coast of a read that got to me on numerous levels. When Hunter’s past comes back to haunt him, will Hunter make a decision that will stop him from committing to the contract of a lifetime? One click and find out.

  • Great!

Hunter and Kate do not have an easy time with their relationship since they have a past and lots of what they went through could have been clarified if they had only communicated. Lots of the angst and drama has to do with their past issues. I liked seeing them in their present elements however and the chemistry was palpable. The story has it's humor as well which balances it out nicely.

  • This was a great addition to a solid series

Right before he was due to become a free agent, Hunter's agent fell ill, and he needed to find someone he could trust - fast! The first person who came to mind was Kate. Will this woman from his past help propel him into his future or will she break him? This is it! The final Warrior story, and it included one of my favorite tropes - second chance romance. That's right. These two enjoyed friendship and a few benefits when they were in college. I was happy to see those important parts of their past via flashbacks, because I am trash for that sort of thing. I also loved getting to see who they were and who they became. As I previously mentioned, Hunter was the last of the Warriors trio we needed to meet. Each book in this series focused on one of the men involved in the deadly crash, and how it affected their life. Hunter actually walked away physically intact, not a scratch. His wounds were mental, and now he had to deal with the fallout or risk losing things that were important to him. It's always great to see mental health incorporated into a story to normalize it, and I appreciated its inclusion. I loved seeing Hunter face his demons, and I was proud of the progress he made. The serious stuff was great, but so was the romance. When I was reading the flashbacks, I mourned all those missed opportunities and the bad timing they experienced. I lamented the years Hunter and Kate could have been together, because let me tell you, it was undeniable that these two belonged to one another. You could just tell that they were each other's person. You know, that person you can be your most open and authentic self with. The one who accepts you, scars and all. This was a great addition to a solid series. I am not sure if this is the end for the Bears (I hope not!), but I am elated that I got to see each of these survivors get their HEA.

  • Best of the series for me

This is my favorite of the Bears Hockey series. I took and instant liking to both Hunter and Kate and really loved the backstory into how they met and became friends in college. I also greatly appreciate the caring and informative way the author treated the subject of anxiety and phobias. While the romance itself may seem like it was a tad slow, I think Ms. Jamieson set a great pace for the story to unfold before rushing them to the bedroom, especially considering their working relationship! I love Kate and the fact that her career is in what most would consider a male-dominated field. It’s great when authors help break that glass ceiling in print as well as it being done in the real world. While there isn’t a lot of hockey being played in this story, it’s my favorite sport to read about. I also like that Hunter is just a great guy…not a swaggering playboy. Those are fun to read as well, but it’s a nice change of pace to not have the H chasing puck bunnies! Very enjoyable book that can read alone without having read the previous books in the series.

  • favorite in the series

Talk Hockey to Me is the third book in the Bears Hockey series. Granted, not a lot of time is spent with the Bears, but there is reason for that. And time with that particular team or not, this one is my favorite in the series. It's a second chance romance, and there's a lot of focus on mental health, fears, and doing what's best for those we love even when it may not be what's easiest. I love that Hunter and Kate are on the same page as far as the relationship goes - that's not to say we don't get any angst, but I'm not going any further with that (no spoilers here). I guess my favorite thing about this book is that it has it all, and it's all timed perfectly. Basically, it's a terrific mix of sexy, sweet, serious, and funny, and it was just so easy to get caught up in this couple. Talk Hockey to Me is one more reason why Kelly Jamieson is on my list of favorite romance authors, and if you haven't read her yet all I can say is what are you waiting for?!
