  • Friends to lovers

The strong silent type meets an equally strong woman and fights his demons to deserve her. Patchy but enjoyable.

  • Love the Grumpy and Sunshine Vibe

I received an ARC of this book to read through Edelweiss+. All opinions are my own. Tall Duke and Dangerous is the second book in Megan Frampton’s delightful Hazards of Dukes series. I recommend reading the books in order as you are introduced to the characters in this book in the first one. Lady Ana Maria Dutton feels betwixt and between no longer an unpaid servant in her nasty stepmother's household, she is about to take her rightful place as a Duke’s daughter in the marriage mart of the ton, but at age 27, she doesn’t feel like she belongs there either. Abandoned by his mother and raised by his abusive father Nash, Duke of Malvern has spent his life trying to rectify his father's misdeeds but fears that he has inherited the nasty temper that destroyed his childhood. His grandmother’s instance that he take a bride as the current heir to the dukedom seems to be cut from the same cloth as his father has him venturing in the marriage mart for the first time where he too feels entirely out of place. A Cinderella story with a friends to lovers and grumpy vs sunshine hero and heroine makes this book one that kept me reading long past my bedtime. I enjoyed it immensely. Steam Level: Medium. Publishing Date: October 27, 2020. #TallDukeAndDangerous #MeganFrampton #HistoricalRomance #KissingBooks #AvonRomance #CinderellaStory #HarperCollinsCanada #BooksOfHCC #MyBookPledge #bookstagram #bookstagrammer

Whomp. Whomp. This was disappointing. The low rating of this novel, currently 3.50, is completely justifiable. The characters were bland as hell and more forgettable than the side characters that probably had more personality than our duo ever could, the romance and the relationship which had no real chemistry or connection was laughable, the rags to riches Cinderella storyline wasn’t thoroughly thought out, writing was hast and that ending—ha! Everything consider, this wasn’t good at all.
