  • quirky but most pleasurable romp of a read

Whilst not necessarily a science fiction fan, the crime element of this novel, The 22 Murders of Madison May was intriguing nonetheless. Author Max Barry is an award nominated author who is a somewhat mischievous Aussie who blogs, developed his own video game and has published six previous books. New York City reporter Felicity Staples reluctantly attends the scene of realtor Maddie May’s horrifying murder. Despite not being on the newspaper’s crime beat, Felicity spots the killer on the subway before he disappears. So begins her pursuit of the culprit but an accident on the train platform changes her world and she is not the only one hunting the murderer. A quirky but most pleasurable romp of a read with a five-star buzz rating. Multiverse has never been such fun filled entertainment.

  • Intriguing, compelling, warm

I was nervous about reading this book as it isn't a genre I would usually choose - the multi-verse is something I associate with comics and superhero action movies. However I was hooked from the first page. The character are so well developed and relatable, the storyline so well constructed, and the premise so neatly contained that it was a pleasure and delight to read. I highly recommend.
