  • It's ok, I guess.

This is the story of two women who are reborn gods in a pseudo-Japanese empire. There is an enemy, a Traitor god, who creates demons, and demons can spread their infection by bleeding on people. The women have to fight the Traitor, they know it's their destiny, but there are plenty of obstacles in the way. There are a lot of themes I really like in this book - what becomes of the people who the legends are based on? - but it dragged on and on. The third book was the draggiest. The first one was pretty good. The prose style seems like it's meant to be in the Heroic or legendary vein, and it started getting old partway into the third book (which is the one dragging the score down, since this ebook was the whole trilogy.) But if you like that sort of prose style, you will probably like it more than I did! The story itself was good; the style got to me.

    Thanks for your feedback!
