  • An exhilarating story of a serial killer.

This is an exhilarating tale that I would recommend to readers. The story stands alone from the previous two books in this series, so prior knowledge of these is not necessary. It starts a little slowly, but stay with the book as the book story strengthens and improves. There are some strange and unique elements to the case and Reinhardt is quickly led into a complex web of deception, revenge, Nazi atrocities, Soviet interference, and a chameleon-like serial killer. The drama plays out against the bleak backdrop of Berlin in ruins and its citizen’s desperate struggle to survive the elements and starvation.

  • Excellent

Not only a fully believable storey line with great twists but also very interesting insight into post war Berlin. Made me want to read more on the immediate post war aftermath.

  • Great plot and characters

Post war Berlin. An amalgam of civilian police, military police and security forces from 4 countries follow a complex trail to try and apprehend a "serial killer". The author creates a foreboding atmosphere in a partially destroyed city with great skill and detail.
