    Modern Cinderella-based Romance

Cinderella rewritten in early 21st century USA might have had a life similar to Jane and Brock is similar to the fairytale prince in some ways, too. My gut feeling is that this is a fairytale created for young women looking for a wealthy prince to save them from a miserable situation. I, on the other hand, am an older woman and prefer my heroes and heroines to have a bit more spine and the ability to stand up for themselves in the face of evil sisters and overbearing grandfathers. It was a quick easy lighthearted read with a HEA ending. NOTE: I, for some reason, have recently gone off the New Adult/Young Adult genre so this may impact my review of this story. Thank you to NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for the copy of this ARC in exchange for my honest review. 2-3 Stars

Once I got into it, I couldn't put it down

I love this author's work. This book took a little bit for me to get into, but once I did, I couldn't put it down. I think it was because I was feeling in a bit of a funk when I started reading, so I found Jane and Brock's thoughts to be quite repetitive at the start, but once I got past that, I really enjoyed these two together. I loved Brock's twin brothers and their banter, but boy, I really disliked Jane's sisters. I could definitely see Jane as Cinderella and her sisters as the ugly stepsisters. I must say, I am looking forward to reading the twins' stories. Just the snippet from the auction has me intrigued.

    A great read

This was a new author to me and I have no idea why I have not read her before. After tragedy strikes Jane is left to hold her family together but sadly that means she spends all her time waiting on and looking after her two sisters, just like a modern day Cinderella. This was a great romantic comedy and although both Jane and Brock annoyed me with their willingness to let their families walk all over them, I could at times understand why they did. When Brock's grandfather comes to him with a plan to auction Brock off as a public relations event to show their family in a more favourable light, Brock despite his miss-givings agrees. When Jane meets Brock at a party, sparks immediately fly and the air sizzles with their attraction to one another. Just like Cinderella, Jane leaves before he can get her name. Imagine his surprise when he finds Jane cleaning the ranch house where he is staying while waiting for the auction to take place. The camaraderie and banter between Jane and Brock was side splitting at times, throw in some barnyard animals and there was certainly a lot happening. I laughed a great deal whilst reading this book and yet it was sweet and spicy as well. This book was well written and I really liked not only ther main characters but the secondary ones as well. I cannot wait until Brock's twin brothers get the story.
