    The Big Sleep

Hard boiled is a particular genre, with a series of characteristics capable of making it practically a world itself, so it took me time to understand how to approach it. Fortunately, the book I chose didn't disappoint me instead, it pleasantly impressed me. The thing that surely stands out most in this novel is the mix of irony and raw realism that the author uses to tell and describe things, giving the reader all the details and the information necessary to create a real mental film. The main character himself is a particular character in fact, he is a private detective with a hard and cynical character, with a cigar always in his mouth and the gun always in his hand, the classic person who has no problem breaking the law and jumping into the fray. I will certainly read other works by this author.

    THE BIG SLEEP

TOTALLY AND UTTERLY BRILLIANT. RAYMOND CHANDLER IS INCOMPARABLE AS A WRITER OF ENGLISH AND IF YOU LET HIS USE OF AMERICAN SLANG DISCOURAGE YOU FROM HIS WORK YOU WILL HAVE MISSED SOME OF THE BEST WRITING IN ENGLISH.
