  • Did she? Or didn't she?

Mason's story is difficult but we don't realise at first how difficult because it is revealed so sparingly until we finally know it all. His first meeting with Abby reminds me of one of the rounds of an Australian music quiz show, Spicks and Specks. That particular game is called "Rock Star or Serial Killer?" and the way Abby disposes of some of the things in her apartment certainly seem to lean that way, although we could replace rock star with seriously successful author. This novel is full of such angst because both Abby and Mason have had difficult childhoods which, particularly in Mason's case, have had serious implications in their adult lives, yet Abby's presence in Mason's life is exactly what he needs. As with any good novel, there has to be some major complication/conflict before the HEA. I thought I had worked it out but I made the same guess Mason did. The resolution to this story is based on sacrifice and really, really strong friendships. Well worth reading and much darker than the two previous books in this series.

    Thanks for your feedback!
