  • the bloody chamber

The highlight of the collection of stories is the bloody chamber which I found well written and in line with gothic horror literature. The remainder of the stories ranged from 2 pages to 24 pages , about have as long as the bloody chamber. I read the book through and loved the way the author used traditional fairy tales to put a gothic slant on particulary where the big bad wolf was always depicted as a werewolf and the heroin as a vampire. In hindsight i should have read the book taking 2 stories at a time as towards the end the repetitivemess became a little too much. The Bloody Chamber I would rate as 3.5/6 5.
