  • Makes you want to read more by Toni Morrison!

Powerful and heart-breaking story about the impact of race and skin colour on a human life and the hardships experienced by an entire black underclass.

  • Heartbreaking

It’s such a heartbreaking read, the story of Pecola. Not only what happened to her but all the aggressions accumulated. Also heartbreaking the constant comparison with the others, white families, brown girls, “decent girls. She’s an other, and it makes me wonder for which audience this book was written.
