    Good read

Excellent book! Well written account of another look at World War 2. Makes you very aware of the hardships endured in that period.

    The Boat Runner

I was very touched by this book. A story of a young boy and his family and how their happy lives changed tragically after the German invasion and occupation of their small Danish town. Their suffering is told with sensitivity and authenticity. Brutalized by his experience, yet in the end , he was able to find his peace and humanity in loving and helping others.

boat runner is an appropriat title

what an exciting book. it is so sad that this poor young boy was sent to Hitler's Youth Camp by his father. he was brainwashed and didn't know who to believe or trust. as the story evolves he looses so much during the war in terms of family and friends. it is wonderful seeing him grow into manhood and taking control of his life.

Perfect title for a book about the sea

I thought this was an excellent novel, well written, very emotional as if it was the author's own story. It will appeal to any reader who enjoys historical novels as do I. I had not read a lot about the Dutch occupation and recommend the book to any reader who wishes to learn more about this.
