  • Don't Miss Out On This Hot New Series! LOVE IT!!!

Delaney Hamilton is on the run from a crazy stalker and the fires he sets. She finally feels at home at her friends winery. She just hopes that she is finally safe. But then another suspicious fire has Delaney feeling that she may be the cause of the fires after all. Scared and with no one to turn to, Delaney confides in the hot firefighter who saves her. Finn is a hot dragon shifter who’s cover is a firefighter. He runs the enforcer team located on the west coast. When a fire at a winery turns out to be started by a dragon, he immediately goes on high alert. What dragon would be stupid enough to set a blaze so close to his headquarters? When he questions the beautiful young woman who was in the middle of this fire, he realizes she knows more than she lets on. Fallon and Delaney go back to headquarters so he can question her more. What he learns has him on edge. A dragon has been wiping her memory and setting fires around her. The question is why. Does this dragon think she is a potential mate? She can’t be. She does not bear the mark. Can Fallon find the rogue dragon and stop him before he kills her? I read the prequel The Mate first and was supper excited about this. I have to say I am not disappointed in this book at all. It is an excellent start to the new Fire’s Edge series. Abigail Owen has a best-seller series on her hands with this one. So far the plot is exciting and thrilling, not to mention hot as hell. Not just from all that dragon fire, but those hot and sexy fire fighters. Oh my lord. **fans self** Those men are sexy as hell. The characters in this book are so intriguing. I am loving each and every one of them. Delaney is a tough cookie, who is smart and independent. Finn is very loyal, protective and possessive. Delaney sure does give Finn a run for his money. Even the supporting characters are awesome. My favorite type of romances are fire fighters saving damsels. So it is no surprise I wanted to read these. With dragons as fire fighters who could go wrong with that right!? This book had danger, suspense, love, hot sex, humor and lots of spunk. I am no fan of dragon shifter books, but with this one I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I absolutely could not put this book down. It was so thrilling. There were times I was about to com bust. I haven’t read a good paranormal in a long time. This was a nice surprise. Overall this book is amazing. With a steady pace, amazing characters and great world building, this book series is sure to hit the #1 spot. I highly suggest you check it out!

  • 5 Star Boss

The Fire’s Edge series is off to a great start, not only was the prequel fantastic but the first book is as well. This fiery romance engages readers from the very first page and holds their attention throughout with bold, convincing characters that are easily connected to and their romance is sweet, full of sizzling chemistry and emotional turmoil that is quite different from other issues that couples may face. The decision to risk one’s heart after all is one that readers everywhere can relate Finn’s reasons for his reluctance to act on the sparks burning between him and Delany is an especially traumatic one and really the situation Delany finds herself in would traumatize most, so this couple is one that readers really want to get their happily ever after. The fast paced and smooth flowing plot keeps readers on the edge of their seat with lots of thrilling suspense, exciting between dragons and nail biting anticipation. The Mate and The Boss take place simultaneously, so the events that take place in the prequel affect the characters in this story, so readers get an overall picture of the political unrest that will upset the dragon world but since this story is longer and gives more detail of this fascinating world and of course readers are introduced more of the dragons that inhabit this world, the readers are better able to understand the world and some of the motivations of the characters. Once again, I was thrilled with the new world that has sexy dragon firefighters and unique mating elements that add danger, spice and tension to matings and makes for a fascinating read, so I am looking forward to reading more books in this series.

  • Wow what an introduction

Wow, what an introduction to a story, talk about instant bookfeels and I didn't even know the characters at that point. Instantly I knew this was going to be a good one, and I was right :) . I have a preference for the use of up-to-date, relevant language in the books I read and thankfully Abigail's writing style meets this 'must have' aspect for me. . Very intriguing characters, I loved the dynamics between the lead pair and the secondary characters in the story. Although the males are a working unit, they come across as a family, the close relationships between them is clear to see and their acceptance, developing friendships with new-to-the-group, lead female Delaney and the guys was interesting and amusing. I've come to care about these guys, so a connection has definitely been made with me lol. I want to know more about them. I want them all to find their true mates and have their HEA'S. My fingers are crossed that this is the authors intention for this series. . Finn Conleth is the boss of a group of dragon shifters, technically enforcers, but working incognito from human discovery as a hot shot crew of fire fighters. (fire-fighting dragon shifters....oh hell yes!) Finn certainly has the intense, brooding, alpha male vibe going on, good grief that male is seriously hot, but boy does it take him long enough to face the truth. The wanting Delaney one minute, then backing off behaviour went on a bit too long for me. Completely understood his reasons, but it was beginning to irritate. . Delaney Hamilton is a human female, running from a deranged stalker and a series of fires that follow her everywhere. Her memories provide no explanations, leaving Delaney worried that she's the cause or that her stalker has found her once again. . I really liked Delaney, she's anxious and guilt ridden, yet able to pick up the pieces, hide her insecurities and deal with whatever is thrown at her. It was a refreshing change not to have the overly used, female freak out and run approach with her discovery of the paranormal world. . Unsure how I feel about the mating council aspect, this is completely new to me and I think I've become set in my ways regarding acceptable mating practices of shifters lol. The characters should know their true mates in my opinion, a council to decide isn't right. . I like having a bad guy to root against and we got that in this story, in the form of Griffin, Delaney's stalker and a dragon shifter himself. Convinced that Delaney belongs to him, he's determined to mate her wither she wants to or not. Yep, he's completely insane and dangerous. . I really enjoyed this story, and I'd definitely recommend it to fans of paranormal romance/fiction. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series. . I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. . #TheBoss #NetGalley

  • Uniquely Told Dragon Shifter Love Story

"The Boss" is a uniquely crafted story of a team of Dragon Enforcers in the guise of hot shot firefighters. Their objective is to keep the territory they've been assigned to protect against rogue dragons and other supernaturals from harming those in the Dragon and human world. When they rush to help in a vineyard fire they discover a Dragon was the cause and a young woman, Delaney Hamilton, is in danger. Finn, the leader of the Enforcers, decides the only way to keep her safe is to bring her back to headquarters. As Delaney and Finn get to know one another and share the tragedies life has dealt them, their feelings for one another only deepen. But will the stealthy rogue Dragon succeed in stealing Delaney away? Is she Finn's true mate? Although I was approved a copy of this book by Netgalley and Amara Publishing, I decided to purchase it so I would own the series. The Mate is the prequel and is free and The Rookie is the next title in the series.
