  • The Bridge at Andau

The book was very well written and informative about life in Hungary under Russian communist rule. Careful research into the identity and lives of real people and the events of the time verified the account given. The talented and skillful writing of the author brought everything together. His analysis of systemic communist rule and its likeness to totalitarian States described the the toll on the human spirit and enabled us to understand the yearning for people to reject and Escape from such conditions. We have much to learn and understand from the experience that Hungarians underwent.

  • The Bridge at Andau

I was just on vacation in Hungary as well as Germany and Austria and visited many of the horrific sites related to WWII. On the flight home to Toronto I read this book and could notput it down. Having seen many of the memorial sights of WWII and the atrocities commited by mankind and then finally going to Budapest and seeing this beautiful city and the vibrant people now it broke my heart to read how much suffering Hungary had to go through as well as the rest of Europe because of egomanical and prejudical beliefs. I had to hold back tears on many ocassions on the flight home. Hungarins are resilant people now and a great example how of multi~cultural people can co~exit and beat the evil and prejudcial people and nations in this world.
