Great First Book in a New Series

I've never read a book by Sarah Mayberry that I didn't enjoy, so it is no surprise that I enjoyed The Cowboy Meets His Match. I liked our heroine, CJ, very much. She had a lot of heart and determination to take on a sport that is male dominated to the extreme. She had grit and I never felt like she was a dumb little girl trying to do something outside her reach. I also really liked Jesse. I never felt like he was condescending or that he talked down to her. I enjoyed the development of their relationship and felt like they really belonged together. The secondary characters were also well written, and all but a few of the characters are extremely likable. I am looking forward to reading more books in this series, and I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys contemporary romance. I received a ARC in exchange of my honest review.

    Loved it!!

The 79th Copper Mountain rodeo has returned to Marietta Montana. The first book in the series is amazing. CJ has her work cut out for her to prove herself in a male dominance career as a saddle bronc rider. It's even harder when she meets charming cowboy and fellow competitor, Jesse. There is no denying their chemistry but can CJ have the best of both worlds. Loved this book, CJ is such a strong woman in a mostly male dominance career. Loved how she didn't cave in to the other riders. Jesse is pure wonderful in all aspects. Great dialogue. Looking forward to reading more of the rodeo series. I highly recommend.

Make sure you have time for this Rodeo Read!

This is one of those books that I have to say tire at my heartstrings as much as it also made me want to beat the ever love stuff out of some bronco riders. I love Marietta and this book was like coming home again. Jesse is a rodeo cowboy and we have read about him here and there in other books. I am so happy to finally get to see the inside struggles and gentleman cowboy he can be. Cassidy Jane or CJ oh my word this gal sets the rodeo circuit in FIRE....in both good and bad ways. Author Sarah Mayberry knowledge of both the rodeo as well as ranch life is so real and I have to say I can't wait to read more Carmody family stories soon.

    Loved it

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it. This was a wonderful book. I truly enjoyed. I appreciated the book being written with a dual POV of the main characters. That helps me to understand the character's actions better. Cassidy Jane (CJ) was a wonderful strong female character that wasn't over the top. Her choice of profession, pro-bronc rider, was a wonderful change-up. It was great to see her struggle against the over-all male dominated sport. Jesse, was a wonderfully charming cowboy with exceptional manners that tries to "stick up" for her. It was charming and a delightful read. I hope to see more of the Carmody family in future stories!!! Hint, hint.

Not enough rodeo or plot for my taste

CJ Cooper is one of the first women to qualify as a pro bronc rider and her first competition is in Marietta, Montana. She meets a tall good-looking cowboy, Jesse Carmody who is her main competition but she can 't afford to get distracted or to get a reputation as a buckle bunny. I would categorise this as a book of two plots. The first, shorter plot is abut CJ's first rodeo and the antagonism she faces from other competitors. The second plot is her insta-love with Jesse and his issues with his family, who live in Marietta. This longer second plot also seems to set up romances for each of Jesse's siblings. I enjoyed this but I thought it was too light on plot generally, and rodeo specifically, and too heavy on the insta-love sexy times between CJ and Jesse. I was looking for a rodeo romance and this only half delivered on that. I received a free copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.
