  • For me its like going home

Wow these families really do not like each other, the animosity they feel literally jumped off the page for me!! While dealing with a long standing feud our Hero Carl and the beautiful Camilla who we have met several times in other series, finally get to be together after 3 years of waiting. Lots of family worries, half truths but in the end love wins the day and this poor couple finally get their happy ever after! lots of sweet moments with a beautiful ending but we are left wondering what comes next! I'm very fortunate to get an early copy of this and enjoyed it immensely, its like going home being back in Chance Creek only we each time we see different parts, and get to meet old friends. Really looking forward to what's next in this series.

  • This page-turner will keep you up at night...HEA

A superior story that is complete (no cliff hangers) and ends with an HEA. Broken-hearted millionaire Carl Whitfield (after Lacey who was totally wrong for him dumped him) sold his ranch and seemingly poured himself back into work. But it changed when he met restaurant owner Camilla Torres. Camilla's a smart woman who found her place in the world, working with friends in a co-owned restaurant. Although her family lived in Texas, her parents being from Mexico where she and Carl have an amazing adventure, she has set down her roots in Chance Creek. Surprisingly, on a first date with Carl, he declares his intentions to marry her. What!? Too soon! Anyway, Camilla pushes back saying she won't consider him unless he sets down roots in Chance Creek and buys another ranch, near her restaurant. She doesn't want to date, then lose her heart to a man whose business jet-sets him around the country. However, in a small town a good ranch with those perimeters are hard to find. Three years later, with a maybe on the line (available ranch), Carl again approaches Camilla who is not more settled in her business operations and seems willing to date. Catch 22 - they live (as renters) on different ranches now and those ranch owners have an ongoing feud between them. Must they keep things secret or risk being treated like traitors and evicted? This story line was smart, had me laughing so hard and grinning very wide, and cheering the entire time for both Carl and Lacey. This is certainly one of my favorite Cora Seton books and I have loved all her work. This page-turner will keep you up at night to find out what this determined, loving, big-hearted man is up to and how Camilla...well, just read it and find out! Highly recommended book!

  • Exceptional Secret

Quite an interesting story, surrounding Mexico and an American farmer. Well written, and the characters seemed to come to life. It’s a good read.

  • the cowboy's secret bride

A very good story. I love the way they schedule themselves almost in a tight corner and then they come to each others rescuing. Loving someone no matter what.

  • Good story... not great but good

I like cowboy stories but it took me two chapters to understand each character. I suggest a family tree with each character’s name so we understand who the Coopers and Turners eras
