    Totally hooked

This trilogy is the best thing i have read in a while. I am hooked. matthew is such a skilled storyteller that it is like watching a film i can see things happening right in front of my eyes. The characters are amazingly real and none more real than the hero Beobrand. With every page turn something new happens. Just brilliant.

    Love it

Brilliant series, right up there with Bernard Cornwell's Last Kingdom. Love it.

    Gripping and savage

The saga continues for our young hero, with a great mix of ad venture, trials and tribulations. Set in a desperate time in our history.

    Disappointing

Predictable writing. I was disappointed and frustrated by this second book so stopped reading this series. It did nothing to stir my interest in what happened to any of the characters.
