    The Cut Out Girl

I was immensely moved by this story of survival of Lien during a dark period in history. Her resilience in overcoming the horror of the loss of her family, her childhood and innocence is astounding. Highly recommended.

    From a different angle

Not at all what i expected. So much has been written about prisoner of war camps. This was a refreshing yet heart breaking angle of the agony of children who went into hiding and how their suffering was to effect them throughout life. To learn that their family have been errased and loss of identity would remain forever.

    Interesting and curious

A great insight into the history of that era with all the emotional experiences it entailed. I just had to keep reading this book. It explains very well the effect it had on the children of those times who were in hiding and the dangers involved in their hiding.
