A change of pace in the series.

The main problem that I have with this is book is that it is long and rather boring. The attempts at suspense weren't done that well (although they have been in previous books). The issue I have here is that some of the chapters end in a suspenseful way but then aren't pick up to a chapter or two later and are resolved in an off-hand sort of way. I still do not believe Jack and Stella are qualified to run a detective agency (and I'm still not sure how the work together well when they cannot bring themselves to be honest with each other).

    The death chamber

I have read all of the detectives daughter series, and this was the first one that I kept putting down. The story was rather long and confusing

Stella & Jack hit the countryside

This time, Stella and Jack agree to take a case in a small countryside village and are surprised when some of the suspects are well knows to them. Along the way, both are trying to fight what they feel for each other and Jack also have to face a bombshell dropped on him by ex-girlfriend the nasty Bella Markham. Of course, all is well that ends well.

    Shame

I love this series, I like the characters and the series is set where I grew up but this was a huge disappointment. Totally unbelievable storyline, hinging on absurd coincidences and full of glaring errors that make you suspect the editor was asleep.

    Good title

The usual well drawn characters and exciting story but let down by some errors and less than careful editing i.e. Brian would have been 22 not 25 in '77 if born in '55. Budgie totally over-realistic! And the person flying from Oz, evidentally's still in the air! And, it's a connecting flight anyway from Perth! A pity there were petty mistakes, her books are normally so good and well written.
