  • too many typos, nd other issues

OK. I freely admit that "Doc" Smith work is not great literature. His characters are, at best. one-dimensional, his heroes are all appallingly noble and his villains are unrepentantly evil;, and his plots are monotonously predictable; but reading his stories are pure FUN! but barely a page goes by without some typo in evidence., some repeated over and over again. ( two glaring examples, the character Virgil Samms being repeatedly renamed Sammy and the planet Ploor being renamed Floor, with both versions of each showing up on the same page) Second issue is why is the Vortex Blaster only chapter 1 of the whole book? the third issue is Where is the fourth Skylark book?

  • Oldie but still good!

Loved these books from my youth back in the 1970s. Slight difference from the printed books as a couple of remembered passages were missing. Very well written, and of it's age, but still so far ahead of us today. Being science fiction, some is very far fetched but overall quite believable and overall of technical brilliance. Loved it all.

  • The Definitive E.E. DOC Smith

I read this as a child-the memory is better. Still simple read and enjoyable for under 12 yrs old.

  • The Essential Doc E Smith

This book is a collection of science fiction stories that are rollicking adventures. Technology wise they show their age but this in no way detracts from the stories. In fact I found it interesting as it reflects the science of the time the stories were written. I recommend this book to any lover of sci fi.
