  • The Demon Prince

Book 2 in the series builds on the first, as it should. There are many battles being fought, the least of which in my opinion, is the age old scenario of good vs evil. More important to me are the internal battles that take place within the characters psyches; "Do I continue to accept what is expected and chosen FOR me, or do I choose what I want/NEED to make ME happy/complete/WHOLE?". The author has gone to great lengths in character building, thereby giving the reader true insight into the hopes, dreams and responsibilities of each one of them. The POWER of love, combined with honesty and the willingness to self-sacrifice FOR said love just shines throughout this tale. Can't wait to start 3rd installment! To reiterate, these books are meant and should be read in sequential order.

  • This story is all about loyalty and steam

The overall plot really gets rolling in this second of the Ars Numina series, with the world opening up to the reader and larger problems being revealed, but with all of that, this story still has its own satisfying conclusion. Sheyla’s moral integrity is wonderful, but did have me worried about her happy ending for a while. However Alastor stepped up to the plate, despite expectations. Their story is sometimes tense, but has a wonderful theme of confidence and loyalty.

    Thanks for your feedback!
