  • Wild wicked and intense

This is a wonderful start to a new series Bastards of London this book being based on revenge. Max has waited for years to get revenge on the men who abused and killed his mother so long ago. There is a very hard dark side to this man but at the same time he can be very gentle. It is a very intriguing read as we are taken in to the underground of London where you will see the dark side from gambling to the seeder people, some who have so much to lose. The men who own one of the most notorious gambling hells in London all come from the same background they were born bastards. Being best friends having their own talents they come together to support each other and run a gambling hall that has made them very rich. Max is out for blood the bloodier the better he wants revenge and is getting tired of waiting to get it. The last man always seems to be right outside of his reach but he is closing in. Max isn’t looking for a relationship there are too many women in the underground who are very willing to give up their time and bodies to take care of all of his needs. When he stumbles across Vivienne he finds this is a women he wants above all others. Knowing she is a lady he does his best to stay away from her but she does seem to have other ideas. Vivienne is very much a proper lady following the rules society as laid out. All she had in the world was her mother when her father died. For many years it was just the two of them. Her mother wanting more for her only child finally remarried only to die soon after. Vivienne took this very hard and has a hard time when her morning is over to go back to the ways of the world. Her stepfather she has always respect but now she is very uneasy around him with his actions and the words coming out of his mouth he even made me feel uneasy. We the reader are left guess but feeling we know where it might be heading. With staying out of his way as much as possible she starts where her mother left off with her charities. Max dog Ransom can be a very frightening thing looking like a wild wolf with wild action he even scared me. Why helping at one of her charities she comes face to face with him and his master. After getting over the shock of the wolf dog trying to attack her she faces his master head on. Neither having a clue as to how their life is about to change. Both are so very taken with the other for very different reason. This was a very in intriguing intense wicked read showing you a side of London you do not get to see. Max and Vivienne are very much opposites one sweet and innocent the other dark and wild. I could really feel just how dark and wild Max was. The author does a wonderful job showing the intensity not only in his body language but his mind and soul. When he places his eyes on Vivienne you can feel the intensity he has for her from his looks to his actions the pull is so strong you can almost see the steam come off the pages. As the author twists her way into your heart the book takes a turn with Vivienne learning things about herself she could never imagine. I have no trouble believing this story of opposite attracts. I found myself really wanting to pull Vivienne right out of the pages before Max could corrupt her but at the same time I was also pulled into his dark world finding him to be very attractive and wouldn’t have minded at all if he would take me for a ride on the wild side. I thought the book started out a little slow but the author does pull you in with the danger, secrets, hot very steamy passion that will lead to a love of a lifetime. This does have very adult and at times dark content. Come take a walk on the dark side of the underground of London if you dare you might find delights with a well written story and wonderful characters you can relate to. I totally enjoyed this read once I got into it. I thought the characters were wild, wicked and very delightful. I enjoyed the plot and the twists and turns. I am very much looking forward to reading the rest of this series. Book Obsessed Chicks Review

  • Anabelle Bryant The Den Of Iniquity

Sensational!!! Sizzling!!! Captivating!!! Annabelle Bryant's The Den of Iniquity is all of these and more. The reader will get to tour a side of London not visited in other Regency books with rakes and rogues of means. You will be introduced to the sinister but intriguing side of the ton by meeting the "Bastards of London" and going to their establishment the Underground Gambling Hell. Description is deftly woven into the story. You will feel as if you are part of the surroundings. You will share the descriptions of the clothes and feel for the poor & needy in the seedy part of the ton All characters are vivid, colorful, realistic and well defined. The main characters have an undeniable chemistry. Both Maxwell Sinclair and Lady Vivienne Beaumont are strong, feisty and well created. They are haunted by loss of love ones, deceit, betrayal and are looking for redemption, healing and love. They meet when Max's dog, Ransom who is a wolfhound follows Vivienne in a cemetery where she went to do charity work. Vivienne thinks the dog is a wolf. Will they be able to overcome their obstacles to be able to move forward??? This book has adventure, twists and turns, humor with sizzling, steamy romance, snappy dialog and a riveting storyline. Very enjoyable story. It is the first book in the Bastards of London series. Looking forward to the next book. I volunteered to read this eBook. Thanks to the author for the opportunity.
