  • The Draining Lake

My first "Icelandic police procedural". Rather an interesting story about Icelandic socialist students during the Cold War, their disillusioning experience at university in Leipzig in the then East Germany, and the aftermath decades later. Unfortunately, the translation from Icelandic was disconcertingly poor - inconsistent level of discourse, and at times jarringly odd use of slang, sometimes highly dated. Overall, a somewhat frustrating read.

    Thanks for your feedback!

  • not much entertainment

Why is unprofessional policing considered entertaining? The storyline is interesting, the writing is tedious.
