  • Good writing.

A mix of humor and suspense. Story told from the view points of several protagonists. It kept me reading late into the night.

  • A great read.

A great read, though it seemed to start a little slowly. As the narrative moved between the main characters, I didn't get frustrated or bored because all the story threads were exciting (unlike Danaerys' chapters in Game of Thrones). I liked that the main characters all had their flaws and retained them, which made them interesting but sometimes rather unpleasant, and to different degrees. I'll be back for more soon.

  • Good but not for heroes

truly some of the most brutal characters to grace a fantasy setting. Read if you like bad choices and consequences; don't if you like your heroes to be heroes
