  • Very enjoyable

Easy to immerse yourself into the beginnings of the use of planes in WWI as well as the slow development of air fighting techniques. The boys and men who received minimal training and yet courageously rose to the challenge of meeting an enemy in the air who was better equipped and more experienced than they, really merits our deep appreciation. Author Hennessy provides likeable characters, some that we unfortunately lose as the story of the war goes on.
