  • painful and gripping

It's really hard to talk about this without giving up any spoilers but basically this is a story about a college sports team completely made up of social dropouts. They play the fictional, very violent and intense game called Exy. The main character is trying to hide from his past while suddenly being in the public spotlight for joining the team of the Palmetto State Foxes. As he slowly begins to open up, his fate gets entangled with those of his teammates and things get dangerous and escalate quickly. The first part might be confusing because there is a lot going on under the surface and most of the characters have some serious issues, but it all gets resolved bit by bit later, and the series as a whole is just perfect and totally worth reading. The characters are all amazing and relatable, and will make your heart weep for them. I'm actually re-reading the series right now because I wanted to make sure to get all the references that seemed weird to me on the first read, and it's a totally different, but also great experience. These books are gut-wretching and painful, but also beautiful and full of hope. Please give them a try! (warnings for drug use, death, rape, child abuse)

  • Take A Chance

HOLY! I went into this book not expecting to LOVE and finish the series in a day. It was amazing and the characters were beautifully written, so much so it made we love reading about sports. Which is new. READ IT!!!

  • Freaking awsome and addictive.

I discovered this book through Tumblr and I'm soooo glad I did. I love the characters, the plot, the universe, everything. Thank you for making the first book free and for selling the next ones so cheap. The author deserves more fame.

  • So worth it!

So, I read a series about sports, and I absolutely loved it. This might be a sign of the impending apocalypse. But seriously, All for the Game is like a giant box of angst and tragedy and romance that had me crying and staying up way too late. The books are quite dark, though - not recommended for those looking for fluffy, happy stuff.

  • 10/10 would read again

Obviously my first time reading this book, but can I just say it was an amazing introductory to the series. All the characters are blatantly complex and that fuels my excitement for this series all the more. Being able to understand and view the situations and other characters through Neil's eyes was a wonderful experience all things considered. I can't wait to read this rest and be able to fully delve into the backstories of these characters and how things proceed given the ending. Definitely reccomend!
