    The G . I Bride

Brilliant what a great read. How sensitivity written when writing about the race divided times and how many overcame their prejudice. A lot can be learned from such a book.

    A good easygoing read

I’m not a saga reader as a rule but having sampled the first few chapters I was very comfortable with the writing style and intrigued to see where the story went. I was taken on a very steady journey of April’s move to Cornwall and through the new life she built. The characters all had adequate substance especially Eunice who’s dilemma felt genuinely told without being trite. I felt the book avoided being too cliched whilst delivering a feel for wartime life both before and after the arrival of the GIs. The author delivered a good balance of turmoil and everyday wartime positivity. The pace was very easygoing but still kept you interested and I found it an easy book to read, even if this isn’t your usual genre I would recommend giving it a go.

    Story line was good

Although I enjoyed the story, as I live in Truro, the discription of truro an the location of Daniel Rd to the old city hospital was wrong as there back gardens back onto hospital grounds, it spoilt it for me for what was a good story

    Great book

Loved this book right from the start. Wanted to keep reading. So easy to get lost in the decade it was set in.
