  • Unfinished

This book ended with so many loose ends, not a single story line is complete. A fantastic writer, but leading several story lines and failing to complete even one is disappointing.

  • The beginning of another wonderful series

I loved this book. Brings a vivid understanding of life for women in the 19th century. The characters are so believable and I can't wait for the next book to find out what happens next. Thank you for another great read Sara.

  • Catching up with 'old friends'

I loved this book. When first purchased I didn't realise it was Book 7 of the Wilderness series - I bought it because I've loved everything Sara Donati has written. Was delighted to re-connect with the Bonner family and it's extensions. This story kept me intrigued from start to finish and has 'inspired' me to go back to the beginning and re-read the entire series. As a now-retired nurse I really enjoyed the historical references to medical and nursing practices in those early days.

  • The Gilded Hour

Very interesting and thought provoking for the time line of the story. Maybe a bit more detailed in the desending line of the women. As i have all the other novels in this collection i was at times trying to put people in the right order. Apart from that i really did enjoy this nivel.

  • A great read as a continuation of the Wilderness.

I enjoyed it as the next book in "The Wilderness" series and the mention of past characters. Sara Donati is a very readable author and you cannot put her books down. Her historical facts are always intriguing and this plot is very believable.

    Thanks for your feedback!
