  • The Greatest Enemy.

The book The GreatestEnemy, was a fine enjoyable read, showing what life is like in the service of your country on board ships of the Royal Navy , how differences of personality and opinion can play a part in morale,at the end of the day the Captain is the man in charge, and must be obeyed Most enjoyable.

  • A Great Sea Novel

Thoroughly enjoyed this book, the first sea story I've read since my teens. The unusual setting, for Douglas Reeman of 1970, worked well. We got to know the crew, the ship's enigmatic captain, and the ship herself in old age, as well as a taste of high drama only the sea in temprst can provide. The plot, not very fast, unfolded, slowly building the tension to a great climax. The slow build up gave good space to develop and enjoy, getting to know characters, ship snd sea. Read and enjoy!
