  • Phryne - talented, independent and resourceful.

I have been enjoying the Phryne Fisher series of books as I always watch the series' on TV. The Green Mill Murder was one which went to TV. I could remember the episode, but the great thing about the book is of course it can go other directions (it doesn't only have an hour). I particularly enjoyed the section where Phyrne went 'out bush', which wasn't on TV. The Australian references are always appreciated. There are more characters in the books than on TV, but it is nice to be able to 'see' the faces of those I know. I enjoy the twists and turns in the plot, but they are not too obscure or complicated. As I said, Kerry Greenwood has once again given me an enjoyable read. Aussie characters, aussie settings and a very talented, independent and resourceful main character.
