  • Finding love in unexpected places

Observing Catriona standing up to the man who has taken her brother captive and is threatening to assault her, Samuel de Mowbray takes the opportunity given to him to remove her to a safer place. Although he is part of the English contingent attacking the Scots' strongholds, Samuel has his own private mission to accomplish and Catriona is his means to finding his sisters who had been abducted by Highlanders. The unlikely pair become partners and meld together quickly and competently when faced with obstacles. On reaching their destination, Samuel comes under attack and when he recovers enough to know what is going on around him, he finds that things are not at all what he believed. The story is a fast-paced romance and although a fairly short read, it is nevertheless enjoyable and comes to a happy conclusion. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

  • Quick Historical Romance

The Highlander's Charm is a phenomenal historical romance by Eliza Knight. This is a fairly quick read, perfect for those with limited reading time. Ms. Knight has provided readers with a well-written book loaded with fabulous characters. Samuel returns home from France to find his sisters have been abducted by the Sutherland brothers. He's determined to rescue them and convinces the king to send him on a mission with the king's soldiers on their way to Scotland. Catriona's home is invaded and she makes a deal with Samuel to take him to his sister so she can get aid from her relatives. Their story is packed with drama, humor, action, sizzle and suspense. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more from Eliza Knight in the future. The Highlander's Charm is book 7 in The Stolen Bride Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger. I voluntarily read a complimentary copy of this book that I received from Bookfunnel. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
