  • The Holocaust

I gave 5 stars not because I loved this book but because it was a very well researched and one of the most informative books on the Holocaust that I've read. I've read quite a lot of books about this era as I became interested as a child when I read about Anne Frank. I am none the wiser though as I try to comprehend how man could treat other humans in this way. This is probably why I have read everything I could to give me some understanding. To date I have no answers for the vile treatment inflicted upon Jews, Jehovah's witnesses, homosexuals, gypsies, communists and anyone else who resisted the Nazis. I am amazed that generally survivors still have their faith. I find it almost impossible to believe in a merciful God who allowed these atrocities and many more prior to and since to occur. I believe that there is an innate ability to blindly follow a madman and lose your sense of reason to act in such a cruelmmanner. Perhaps scientists should study how man can have no conscience as it happened to the German people who acted so inhumanely.

    Thanks for your feedback!

  • A History too horrible but true.

What a horror. There no doubt about the accuracy of this history. I have relatives in Poland who still live with the horrid memories. A relative was put to death at Auschwitz at the age of 22 for being in the Polish Resistance. Our family is proud that we were against the German murderers and in support of the Jewish population. Many Polish cowards supported the Germans. I so hope that there is a Hell where Hitler and all the monsters in this war will reside forever.
