  • Europe

Holy Roman Empire was always an abstract entity through my high school years. Was it a different country ? Did it got anything to do with Italy. I have learned a lot from Mr Wilson's beautiful narrative. But I still believe Charlemagne, Napoleon were all emulating the Ancient Roman Empire. This was inevitable because what Plato was for Christianity, Roman Empire was the same for her successors. Today the EU is trying to do same albeit vulnerable to the 19th century illness of nationalism.
