  • great book

Ellie's sister Mac is missing. Copious amounts of her blood was found at the crime scene yet Ellie still believes she may be alive. She meets Grayson an investigator who is looking at her sister in relation to a cocaine bust. Nothing is making sense to Ellie as she is so sure that Mac would never get involved with anything to do with drugs. So much happens in this book and the story gets entertainingly complicated. A great second book in the Lavender Tides series and I can't wait to read the 3rd installment. Thank you to the publishers for an advanced copy to review, all opinions expressed in this review are my own and I am happy to recommend this book. It's worth mentioning that you don't need to have read the first book in the Lavender Tides series to enjoy this one.

    Thanks for your feedback!

  • mystery/thriller

The writing was strange like it had not been proofread. But the story held my interest. This mystery/ thriller caught and held me. The characters were real and somewhat mysterious. The settings were real and a pleasure to read. This book moved fast and then slowed at the perfect pace. I have an idea that this might be a new author and I hope she continues writing. Good story. Thanks to NetGalley for ARC

  • Couldn't put it down

Warning: When you start this book you won't want to put it down, so make sure you have plenty of time, or that you don't need much sleep. I stayed up late into the wee hours of the morning because I had to find out what happened. Ellie and Jason are partners in a house flipping business. She can swing a hammer as good as or better than any man and has innovative ideas in design. Her sister Mackenzie is a college professor but has purchased a ship and has renovated it. She turns up missing with an extreme amount of her blood found on the deck of her ship. Ellie is devastated and won't give up looking for her sister or believe the horrible rumors going around about her. Grayson shows up, working for the Coast Guard, and trying to find missing cocaine that he thinks Mackenzie has stolen. Many layers are involved, including terrorists, North Korea and drugs. Not all the characters are who you think they are. I began to wonder who are the bad guys and who are the good guys. Sometimes it was hard to tell, the best kind of suspense! The cover was so beautiful that I wished I was there. I'm looking forward to the next Lavender Tides novel. I received a complimentary ebook copy of this novel from the publisher through Netgalley but was not required to write a review.
