  • Just ok. Added info to book one.

This story takes place during the same time as book one in the series. It focuses on middle sister Cassandra. It succeeded in filling in some of the gaps that I wondered about while reading the first book but I found it didn’t have the same amount of detailed memories as the first book. The main characters seemed to think and complain about the same general issues over and over. While I did learn a lot about the Duke of Wadebridge and why he behaved the way he did, it got quite repetitive in places. Instead of repeatedly telling us how miserable his childhood was, I would have liked more concrete examples; more showing instead of telling. Though not the same quality as the first book, I still enjoyed it and am looking forward to seeing how things turn out for the youngest sister in the next book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

  • A Heartwarming Story!

repare to fall in love with the Staunton sisters and in particular Octavia, the eldest of the three. It had been twelve months since the death of their parents and they were formally ending their mourning. Having grown up in a small village with their mother a teacher, the village had taken them under their wing, but now they needed a plan to earn funds so that they could pay the bills and make ends meet. Maybe even buy some new dresses. When Octavia heard that the latest governess for Simon,Lord Althorn at Caswell Hall had quit, she saw it as her opportunity to get a job. Yes she was overqualified even though she had not had a formal education. I love this part when she marched in and almost demanded the job and yes, she did get hired! What she did not expect was how handsome he was because nobody really knew much about him! A wonderful journey to love and romance you will not be able to put down once you have started! I love her charge Leah who was Simon's niece and how kind he was to her.. Loved this story! I read this through Booksprout and the publisher.

  • The weak one becomes the strong one!

This book features Cassandra Octavia’s sister. Wade has decided that he wants her. Now, this puts them at odds with each other but the twists are a-coming. This is a rather complex tale but like book one, it is well-written and with outstanding characters. Everyone sees Cassandra as weak yet as the book moves you will gain another vision of Cassandra. Good story!! I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it

  • full of love

I found this story of Cassandra and Wade so full of love. Wade, a duke, is known for his outrageous behavior. Does not do what society expects and goes its own way. Cassandra is the most beautiful woman he has ever seen and he is instantly in love with her. Because of her beauty, Cassandra has already had several marriage proposals but has never accepted one. She is more than a beautiful sight and no man looks beyond that. But Wade sees her for who she is and Cassandra falls for him. But she cannot marry him because she cannot bear children. Wade has been neglected all his life. After his father's death, he was taken away from his mother and raised by others who wanted to protect his duchy. Everyone sees in him only a dark duke and not for who he is. But Cassandra looks further and sees the gentle man he is. He wants to be a better man for her. The end of the book ends with Simon and Octavia, from part 1, who come to visit them. The four of them discover that Honoria is engaged in London ....... I travel to London and read the story of Honoria and Philip. If it's as good as this book and its predecessor, I'm going to have a great evening!
