    Disappointing

I have always enjoyed Belinda Alexandra’s book but I did not enjoy this one at all, I’m afraid. Why I wonder? Can’t really say apart from the fact that it did not seem to me to be up to her usual high standard and certainly did not hold my interest and wanting to keep on reading in fact I found myself skipping a lot of it. However, having said that, I will continue to read any future books.

    The invitation

Very predictable plot. Got very bored with all the decriptions of clothes, furnishings I didn’t like the people which was probably what the author wanted. I found myself missing some as I didn’t want to know about their attire another time.

Very much enjoyed this book. Had to keep reading it till it ended. Good story too. A look at how both halves of society lived in the day and the total disregard most of the rich had for the poor.
