  • Awesome look at Phillip the Fair

This book is short but so well written. Recommended by GRRM for those who love ASOIAF. I gave it a try. I'm glad I did. Now on to the second book of the series.

Lees het boek, werkelijk fantastisch! Scherpe dialogen, schitterende setting en buitengemeen gedetailleerd

  • Fascinating

Who knew that history could be so interesting? This interwoven take, from the viewpoints of key players, takes you though the latter part of the reign of the French King, Philip the Fair. You soon discover this nickname refers to his looks, rather than actions, as he seeks to extract funds by destroying those who hold wealth and seizing their assets. However, his is not a happy reign. If karma existed, then the outcome for him, his three sons, and his closet council, illustrate it well. The book is written in an engaging style, and some nights, I could not put it down until well beyond the time I should be sleeping!

    Thanks for your feedback!
