  • Mesmerising

Extremely mesmerising book. Different from Harry Hole, which has less layers in the characters. Real literature!

  • The kingdom

Slow to start I was getting bored with all the background introductions but then the pace picked up and it improved. The story is good tho I loved all the harry hole books and did not enjoy this as much. A very knowledgeable writer on many subjects which he illustrates thru conversations.

  • boring and repetitive

Cant believe this is the same Jo Nesbo. His previous book The Knife was excellent His books are usually fast paced intriguing plots and great characters. Very disappointed with this one

  • Good, then really not good

Builds and unfolds gently and cleverly before a rushed and badly executed final section undoes most of the good work. This reads like Nesbo decided to branch out and write a more literary style of novel, then got bored after 600 pages.

    Thanks for your feedback!
