    Nostalgic

Very funny and accurate description of the 1960s and beyond. I liked the authors honesty and humour.

And to think that now we have avocado oil

An interesting commentary of 60’s and 70’s Australia. As an American I could identify with a few things during the same period in my home state of Hawaii (telephone party lines, dinners out of a can, roaming the neighborhood until dusk), but it was nothing compared to the land Down Under. At least we had tv dinners (surprised the author made no mention of them at all).

    Very appropriate!

Eminently readable, this factual social history is a wonderful overview and critique of our times. Despite being laced with humour, it does not shirk to discuss the harsh realities of the eras under review. A must read for our times!

    The land before avocado

Fantastic trip down memory lane and a wonderful positive note to end on. We are indeed the lucky country.

    A tribute to optimism

Such a funny, warm and thought provoking look at the history of our country! You really gave me new insight into why my mother is how she is, and how quickly the world has turned.
