I had low expectations of this book but, some reason, decided to buy it (a 99p offer didn’t hurt). I can only say I was intrigued by the premise (maybe partly due to reading Mary Shelley’s ‘The Last Man’ this year) and gave it a go expecting to give it 3 - maybe 4 - stars before even starting it. Not very open minded I know. Glad to say I was totally wrong. The author writes in a very engaging, often lighthearted, way with an interesting (and new?) style I can’t recall coming across before (maybe a bit Douglas Adams?). I even read the ‘Acknowledgments’ fully which must be a first as they were actually interesting. The author builds the story from a single human into a universe spanning tale which is well worth reading. Expand your universe and get sucked into this one.

    Thanks for your feedback!

  • Stunning

Best read this year. (Apparently that isn't enough characters for a Kobo review)
