    An EXCELLENT prequel

I've read many series prequels, but this was by far the best. It gave insight into the characters of the trilogy, told in a series of flashbacks threaded together by an event in the "here and now". The backdrop is a lull in the action - a period of recuperation for our hero, the Witcher, after suffering a significant injury. Conversation with others during his convalescence, and the things occurring around him, prompt him to recall events from his past and we are privileged to wander among them with him. Those hints at past events given in the trilogy are fleshed out and given life. I recommend this to anyone who wants more insight into the Witcher and his past.

    A fantastic collection of stories

A wonderful journey into the dark and colorful world of the witcher. A great prelude to this acclaimed saga with touching characters spanning different and varied narratives with lasting impressions and memorable conflictshes between the forces of good and evil.

    Amazing

Very witty and at times humorous narrative. Enjoyed it immensly. Going on to read the next book in the series.

    Loved it.

A great book of small stories about one of my favorite characters. I love the games so I had to read the books. They make me want to play the games over again. I really recommend this book to all who love fantasy.

    Good intro to the witcher

Good intro to the Witcher. Would recommend to watch the series only after you've read the first two books imo. If you have watched the series, it's still interesting to get some more context on why things happened and what exactly happened in the series. Some short stories were really good, some were... lacking. Personally I prefer one longer story over smaller short ones. But nevertheless I enjoyed the book.
