  • The lost Jewels

An excellent read skipping back to the source of the story and then back to present day. I enjoyed this very much.

  • The Lost Jewels

Kirsty Manning has written a fascinating historical novel inspired by the Cheapside Hoard, an enormous collection of jewels unearthed in London in 1912. The story covers multi generations of a family and visits several countries while showing the living conditions the poor experienced in earlier times.

  • A fabulous story

I loved the story crossing back and forth across a timeline giving the reader a full history of the jewels. Makes me wonder where my own jewellery came from.

  • A Jewel of a book

As a well-cut jewel has many facets, so does this story of gems and their journey through time, and the people whose lives they influence. I was fascinated at the way the people were affected by them, for good or bad. Superb.
