  • Not bad

Be prepared to read the other books in the series because this book does not provide a satisfactory ending. It was quite a good story, typical of the genre. Male and female get together to solve an ancient puzzle with a gang of thugs belonging to a secret religious order on their tail. Maybe a bit wordy explaining the history of the Templars, but the story moved at a reasonable pace. Will most likely read the next installment to see what happens.

  • A worthy read but somewhat lacking in a conclusion

This is an enjoyable tale about an intriguing subject - the Knights Templar. Its strength lies within the historical details and leadership of this church order of warrior knights at the time of the Crusades. It can however be over-detailed and over-long in the narrative on the modern day pursuit of the books two central characters, Also, unlike many other series that can be read as an independent book, this first instalment lacks a conclusion that would enable it to be read as a single book.
