  • A Philosophical Challenge

I'm very fond of Scandinavian crime novels and Henning Mankell's stories are up with the best. This has some very deep components, but is the usual compelling read, probably because I can relate to Wallander's ordinariness and his seemingly total lack of method!

    Thanks for your feedback!

  • Kurt Wallander at his best

Another excellent story from Mankell in the Wallander series

  • No more smiling

Wallander at his most melancholic, dealing once again with evil, manages to rediscover his mojo. I enjoyed the build up of this plot but found the ending a bit too sudden. It would probably have worked better in a movie than in a book. Enjoyed the new character of Hoglund, a female copper breaking into the dour Ystad police force and slowly being accepted.
