  • Things are not as they seem

Jill Francis, journalist, and Inspector Thornhill get into their stride, in this story which at first seems run of the mill. A spinster is found murdered in the vestry of St John's church and a valuable chalice has been stolen. She must have disturbed a robbery, but there is more to the spinster, and as the story unfolds, it seems the local landholder, his agent and the town hotel are all involved. The book brims with detail and as the characters are revealed one by one the solution comes into focus. Alongside the sleuthing the relationship between the inspector and the journalist is slowly building. This is a good read and I have already download the next in the series. I want to read on.

    Thanks for your feedback!
