  • A brilliant debut, highly recommended.

I don't usually go for unknown authors, but the cover had me intrigued, plus I enjoy psychological thrillers. For a debut, I have to give it 5 0ut of 5. It is such an ambitious story, and wow! What an imagination, especially on the carousel, no spoilers here. It didn't go the way I imagined in my head at the beginning, and then, when I thought I'd figured it out, it caught me off guard again. I don't want to give too much away, but as far as mental health problems go, I could relate to some aspects of the main character, Elaine. It is sometimes dark, and at times violent, but it all felt so real. It's written as though it actually happened to somebody. I don't know how to explain, but it feels like Elaine Davis is real. She is written so well, the story is written well. I like the style and it doesn't dawdle when something is happening, and the ending before the ending, 'Oh My God.' I enjoyed it very much. It's a good read and I look forward to seeing what this author can produce next time around. If you enjoy reading a book that leaves you thinking about it after you put it down, then this one's for you.

only picked it out because it was a freebie, and had a catchy title, and it turned out to be a great read. what a twisted lot they are. i was angry, sad and happy as i read, not wanting to put it down. just started the sequel, Godless Creatures.

  • Mother of All Things

Reading Mother of All Things I truly enjoyed this intelligent and terrifying thriller. All of the twists and turns. Secrets revealed, murders, the drama, and even the acts of vengeance. This book was a thorough and enjoyable read.
