    Excellent Storytelling

There is something about the way that Patrick Rothfuss tells his stories that make them feel very intimate and personal. I enjoy the way he creates and explores complex cultures. The characters feel well developed and believable. The story itself is essentially a recount of events from the perspective of someone in hiding from a past they need to escape. It feels like the past and the present are slowly converging as events in the world begin to 'bump' into his disguised identity.

    Amazing

Very hard to put down. Best fantasy book I've read. Hopefully the sequels are just as good. Happy reading.

    Insightful, moving, enchanting, and compelling

This is the second time I've read this first book in the series whilst I wait on the third instalment. It has lost none of the charm, magic, or beauty second time round. The writing style is clever yet clear. The descriptions of feelings, concepts, and characters build easily into a colourful and detailed world brought to life by a story full of joy, sorrow, and wonder. Truly one of the most enjoyable books I have in my library.

    A visual and emotional feast!

The Name of the Wind is the first book in a story about Kvothe told by Kvothe himself. He's lived a fascinating life and relays his tale to the reader with vivid detail and sharp expression. The way Patrick Rothfuss writes almost paints the story in your mind as you read, this is thanks to his excellent expression of detail both of appearances and the character's feelings. He makes it easy to relate to Kvothe and you soon start to feel what the character feels. The 5 stars are genuinely deserved, it is a magnificent read, more so for being the author's debut release and it is already one of my favourites.

    Great read

Really good read. I found it hard to get into initially but knowing where it was going but as the character told their story, it was hard to put down. Still a little confused as to the ending though have to buy the next book to see how it turns out.
