  • The Lost Soldier

I was itrigued with the story of a tree memorial for fallen soldiers of WW1 & how a journalist uncovered the story behind it.

  • The lost Soldier

This book is a must read for anyone who disputes the effect war has on families, people, and communities. The book highlights the grief and courage of everyday people whose lives are torn apart by the destruction of War. She cleverly relates how the devastation of war continues to affect the generations born after. Diney keeps historically correct as she weaves this fictional story ....absolutely brilliant!

  • Brilliant

Once again, Diney has depicted a powerful and beautiful story. The way she weaves her stories is so heart warming, well researched and educational of the history of two brutal wars. I had read The Sisters of St Croix and then The Lost Soldier. I love how Diney wove these together and I felt like I knew every character well. SUCH A WONDERFUL WRITER.
