  • Best series!

Loved this series so much. Grew up reading this and was always wanting the next book to be released. I reread this all the time. It is my favourite!

    Thanks for your feedback!

  • Sutherland

My favourite series. The later novels live up to the expectations set by the earlier ones, a rare achievement.

  • Solid read

This series is a hefty but easy read. It’s a left wing si-fi fantasy if I ever read one. At times it has more re-caping than a reality TV show, which is largely not needed when you binge read like I have, but probably helps the slower paced reader and / or a younger reader. There is a lot of time spent in Elspeth’s head problem solving. Which can get a bit too much at times as she can still miss the obvious. There are a couple of over simplified racial / cultural parallels drawn to our world that struck me as being a tad unnecessarily racist and could have just been skipped without it changing the overall message. I bet there are many school room discussions to be had over this topic. Having said that, I still think it’s a good read and a thought provoking yet slightly idealised one at that.

    Thanks for your feedback!
