    Excellent

A great story about an unknown country,of which the truth is difficult to reveal through the world agencies.

    Juche Spirit

For six years in the early 1990s I occupied a position whose previous incumbent had placed the office on the mailing list for North Korean magazines and the complete works of Kim Il Sung. These works fascinated me. This novel so perfectly recreates the feelings I had then of complete unreality, of the interchangeability of individuals. The only thing missing was an account of conversations around a table at the Muddy Fish Cafe.

    Bleakly compelling

A story like no other I have read. The horror of a state where reality is what the Dear Leader says it is and where all must do what is necesary to show their love and loyalty to him above all else. Within that, human stories of awakening, love and sacrifice.
